BetRivers Poker Championship 2026: $600K Guarantee

Online poker series in the United States used to be a rumor with a guarantee attached. That era is quietly ending. The 2026 BetRivers Poker Championship runs September 27 through October 11, packing 100 tournaments into 15 days with more than $600,000 in guarantees and buy-ins spanning $3 to $500 — the operator’s largest series to date.

Compare that to history. Last year’s inaugural edition, back in September 2025, ran 112 events for $545,000 across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware and West Virginia. So the 2026 version has fewer tournaments carrying more money. That’s the tell. Regulated operators aren’t chasing event counts anymore; they’re betting that liquidity in the shared-state pool can actually cover bigger numbers without an overlay bloodbath. Maine became the ninth US state to legalize online poker in January 2026, and every added jurisdiction makes that math less terrifying.

The structure reflects the same confidence. Events are split into Gold and Silver tiers with paired schedules, every tournament awards a trophy, and six designated Championship events carry exclusive hardware. Opening Sunday alone stacks eight tournaments and $71,250 in combined guarantees; closing Sunday, October 11, goes bigger with ten events and $90,300.

For players, the practical read is schedule selection. The menu includes PLO, PKOs, 6-max, Monsterstacks, Deepstacks, Turbos and Hypers — which means the edge isn’t just in your range construction, it’s in knowing which formats reward your game. PKO fields in particular still leak value at these buy-ins, where too many regs price bounties as a rounding error rather than as an equity adjustment; the bounty-pricing framework in PKO Poker Strategy by Dara O’Kearney and Barry Carter remains the cheapest edge available for a $3 satellite grinder. The turbo and hyper slate, meanwhile, is a pure short-stack examination, and the difference between a disciplined sub-15BB plan and reflexive shoving is where most of these leaderboards get decided.

None of this rivals a WCOOP or a WSOP Online bracelet series in raw dollars. It isn’t supposed to. What a $600K regulated guarantee signals is that the legal US market has crossed from proving it exists to competing for the recreational player’s Sunday night — and that’s a far more interesting fight.
